June 2026: STHL Tribute - Jim 'Brutal Master' Meanor
STHL NEWS

The STHL honors the short-lived but highly memorable career of the 'Brutal Master', James Meanor. Having joined the league in its second month of existence, and retiring just shy of season's end, Meanor finishes with an all-time career mark of 5 wins, 17 losses, 4 ties, and an indeterminate number of beers knocked back during play. He was an inspirational foundation of the STHL and the legacy of 'Brutal Master' will live on in the annals of league lore.

May 2026: STHL Secures Practice Site at Phoenix Distillery
Dan Henner (L) and Brian Lalik (R) get in some pre-chicken wing practice time at Lock 1 Distilling Company in Phoenix.
The Syracuse Table Hockey League has a new practice locale, the Lock 1 Distilling Company in Phoenix, NY. STHL commish Dan Henner stopped into the bar one Sunday afternoon and got into discussion with manager Jim Lynch. Talk invariably turned to table hockey and Henner apprised Lynch of the hobby's burgeoning popularity and the Syracuse league's growing roster. Lynch in turn proposed an on site STHL practice session with the prospect of piquing the interest of patrons. He further discussed the potential of purchasing his own game to run some variation of a weekly competition.
The initial STHL practice was held on May 11 (half price wing night!), and was an all around success. Four league members were joined in competition throughout the evening by a distillery patron and two of the cooks, and the wings were deemed exemplary. A second practice is scheduled for the first week of June and the partnership is expected to continue for the foreseeable future with a possibility of the league being involved in some extent with the distillery competition.
